At first glance, this Nissan Altima I spotted on my way to work today looks pretty tame. But then you notice it has no license plates, limo tint, small “rims” and a front suspension sitting couple inches too high with a noticeable amount of positive camber. If only this were the worst Altima I’ve seen lately.
No, that honor goes to this “Altima 2.5S GT-R” I saw at the grocery store a couple weeks ago.
The best (?) part was the large diecast Fast & Furious Supra stuck to the dash, which unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of.
What gives, Nissan Altima drivers of Madison, WI?

It’s because they all saw the unofficial Altima commercial

I have a Altima. It’s stock. The way an Altima should be.
It is the least “enthusiast” type car I can think of.

Around Milwaukee all the Nissan dealers are in the hood. So you can imagine what you see most of in the hood.
No plates, questionable tints, ugly rims, body damage, driving like an asshat.... its nearly ALWAYS a mid-2000's Maxima or Altima.

A former boss of mine went out and bought himself a fully loaded Altima when he made partner at our firm. I have a lot of respect for people who make a few hundred thousand dollars a year and are happy to live way far within their means, but that’s not what this guy is, he’s just a weirdo.
Since that point, “the kind of person who would buy a fully loaded Altima” has been my go-to insult for someone who makes inexplicable decisions. I used to joke that he probably spent $40k on that Altima, and I just went and priced it out and holy shit it’s literally almost possible:

Maxima and Altima are the official asshat cruiser of NJ.

And you only had to load it up with a ridiculous $3,971 worth of dealer accessories on there to get it to that price. ;)

I have an unhealthy fantasy about stripping a built-up GT-R down to its bones and then putting an Altima Coupe body and interior over it. It would just look like a 2012 Altima 2.5S coupe with silly wheels and tires.

No one will ever get all that crap. And you forget the huge discount the dealer will give you.
Source: Bought fully loaded Altima 3.5 SR several years ago. Why? Running kids all over for athletic and school events, parking in cramped parking lots or in fields (xc, cyclocross, soccer), too many miles for a lease, had to put a bike rack on it and didn’t want to go crazy with every scratch or ding.

We had an 05 with the 2.5 for a decade - other than a single bad injector that went TU in the first year it was completely problem free. Not super fast but zippy - one of the best sorted out 4spd auto boxes I have ever driven. The one thing that bugged me is that it handled like a bus - heavy, slow steering without much feedback.

you forgot the extra underbody sealing/rust proofing and exterior paint protection/interior trim protection package.
